Our 1st-3rd grade students went on a field trip to Hillcrest Orchards in Ellijay, Georgia this past week. We were very lucky that the rain cleared and we had some beautiful fall weather to enjoy our adventures outside for the whole day.
Our FSA students enjoyed our long bus ride to North Georgia, and as soon as we arrived they were so excited to begin our field trip adventures!
On our trip students were able to see what farm life is all about. Each student... enjoyed a yummy cup of fresh apple cider, learned about how to feed cows, practiced taking kernels off ears of corn for the cows to eat, practiced and ACTUALLY milked a real cow, learned about cows and bulls, visited a farmhouse museum to learn about life on the farm in the past, enjoyed a snack outside, visited an apple farm, took a wagon ride through a nature trail, came face to face with farm animals in a petting zoo, and last (but certainly not least) enjoyed some fun and FAST pig races to end our adventure!
I hope our 1st-3rd grade students went home with lots of stories to share with their family members about out fun day at Hillcrest Orchards. It was a great day for our 1st-3rd grade students at FSAPS!
