FSAPS KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES HAD A LOVELY TIME AT THEIR SWEETHEART BREAKFAST

The Kindergarten students had a wonderful time on Friday, February 13th coming together for a day filled with LOVE-ly Valentine’s Day activities. Students participated in Valentine’s Day themed activities in their classroom, created Valentine's Day mailboxes to deliver special treats to their Kindergarten friends, and had a BLAST at the Elementary School Dance.

The biggest hit of the day though was bright and early in the morning from 7:55 am until 9:15 am. Kindergarten held their 2nd Annual Kindergarten Sweetheart Breakfast! The Kindergarten teachers hosted a breakfast for all of the sweet parents in the cafeteria. Ms. Przedpelski, Mrs. Irshadullah, and Ms. Fichter scrambled eggs, served yummy waffles made to order, and provided a few other breakfast favorites such as bagels, muffins, cream cheese, yogurts, pastries, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. A delicious way to start the day and fun fellowship for all! We are so lucky to have such sweet families with us at FSAPS and the Kindergarten teachers were so happy to honor their sweet families for Valentine's Day.

PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN PUZZLE CLUB

Did you know that puzzle club provides on-the-job training? Recent studies have shown that young children who regularly play with puzzles develop better spatial skills. This is primarily due to the simultaneous use of both sides of the brain which occurs when connecting pieces of a puzzle together. The analytical left brain hemisphere logically sorts all of the separate pieces of the puzzle. The creative right brain hemisphere works intuitively and sees the “big picture." By exercising both sides of the brain at the same time, young children develop the ability to mentally manipulate shapes. Having the ability to mentally transform shapes and envision the outcome is an important predictor of achievement in STEM related hobbies and ultimately careers later in life. Just look at the fun these students are having while training for future careers in medicine, engineering, architecture, and science!
