Georgia Mathcounts Team Wins "The Most Improved Team Award" in Washington D.C.

The State of Georgia Mathcounts Team WINS "THE MOST IMPROVED TEAM AWARD" in the last 10 years at the 2016 National Mathcounts Competition in Washington D.C.






Georgia Mathcounts TEAM’s placement went up from 28th place to 13th place among 56 teams!

Holden Watson (grade 7 of Roswell), Lawrence Zhou (grade 7 of Lilburn), Anup Bottu (grade 8 of Cumming), and Johnny Fang (grade 8 of Johns Creek) vied and represented GA State in the 2016 National Mathcounts Competition which empowers bright, hardworking middle school students to reach their full potential in mathematics on May 9th 2016 in Washington, D.C.

The final 224 competitors who competed in the Washington, D.C., finale represented all 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories and schools from the Departments of Defense and State. They overcame heart-pounding competitions involving some 100,000 students from more than 5,000 schools at local and state levels.

Holden Watson, one of our young 7th graders at Fulton Science Academy Private School placed 31st at the individual level among top 224 competitors of the nation at the 2016 National Math Competition on May 9th, 2016. GA Mathcounts TEAM & Coach Duzyol received “The Most Improved Team” award in the last 10 years at the 2016 National Mathcounts competition on May 9th! GA Mathcounts TEAM’s placement went up from 28th place to 13th place among 56 teams!
