Last week Mrs. Houston's third grade class worked in partners to solve quite a problem - Fred the Worm was stranded on a capsized boat in the ocean with his life preserver stuck under the boat! Students worked together to create a plan to save him using only four paper clips. They were not allowed to touch the boat, life preserver, or Fred. Everyone was successful and each team of third grade students exhibited creativity and various problem solving strategies!
